Challenge Overview

The CYBERINTELSYS needs a secure, scalable, and automated solution to transfer files under F9infotech without managing infrastructure. Traditional SFTP servers pose security risks, scalability challenges, and manual file management overhead, making compliance and operational efficiency difficult. To address these challenges, F9infotech designed a solution using AWS Transfer Family and AWS Lambda powered by Graviton. Files are securely uploaded to Amazon S3 via Transfer Family (SFTP) over a VPC Endpoint, ensuring private, encrypted data transfer. Upon upload, a Graviton-based Lambda function is automatically triggered to compress the files, reducing storage usage and preparing the data for downstream analytics. This serverless architecture eliminates the need for manual intervention or server management. Graviton enhances performance and lowers compute costs, while services like Amazon CloudWatch and Amazon SNS provide complete monitoring and real-time alerts. The result is a scalable, secure, and cost-efficient file transfer and processing pipeline fully aligned with CYBERINTELSYS compliance and operational needs.

Our Approach

Our approach to optimizing file processing for Cyber leverages AWS Lambda, powered by AWS Graviton, to deliver a high performance, cost-efficient, and fully automated solution. When files are uploaded to Amazon S3 via AWS Transfer Family, an event-driven, Graviton-based Lambda function is triggered to automatically compress the files, reducing storage costs and streamlining downstream processing. Graviton provides up to 34% better price-performance compared to traditional x86 compute, helping reduce operational expenses while scaling efficiently.
The solution uses CloudWatch for monitoring and SNS for real-time notifications, ensuring secure, low-latency processing with zero infrastructure management, aligned customer compliance, and performance needs.

Solution Overview

F9 Infotech provided our customer with a highly adaptable and secure cloud computing environment that empowered them to run their business with confidence. Our solution was designed in accordance with industry best practices, ensuring maximum reliability and security. Drawing on our analysis of traffic, demand, and load patterns, we collaborated with the customer to develop a scalable and agile architecture. After careful consideration, we recommended Amazon Web Services as the ideal hosting platform, offering unparalleled security, usability, mobility, and an exceptional end-user experience.
F9 Infotech deployed the project in the Mumbai region using a VPC consisting of public and private subnets, along with resources such as AWS Transfer Family, IAM roles, Lambda functions, Amazon S3, and Amazon CloudWatch. The solution implements AWS Transfer Family with an internet-facing VPC endpoint to facilitate secure and automated file transfers from WinSCP to Amazon S3 via SFTP. IAM roles are configured to grant Transfer Family the necessary permissions for seamless S3 interaction, ensuring secure and efficient file storage. Security groups and network ACLs are used to enforce access control and maintain compliance. To automate post-transfer processing, AWS Lambda functions powered by AWS Graviton are used. These event-driven functions compress uploaded files in real-time, significantly reducing S3 storage usage and optimizing them for downstream processing.
Graviton provides superior price-performance, making the solution both performant and cost-effective. Additional Lambda functions also handle file tagging and trigger notifications via Amazon SNS, while Amazon CloudWatch delivers real-time monitoring and logging for complete operational visibility.This fully managed, serverless, and scalable solution eliminates the operational burden of maintaining traditional SFTP infrastructure while delivering high availability, enhanced security, improved performance and cost efficiency for Cyber.
